Future read in Concrete and Stone Workshop proposed by Bojan Djordjev in collaboration with Siniša Ilić and Katarina Popović

Performing Marxist Heritage is an ongoing research project departing from a “phantom memory of Marxism” as experienced after the collapse of socialist Yugoslavia, actualized in a critique of contemporary capitalism and concretized in lecture-performances, reading groups, discussions, collective working sessions, and contextually specific labour actions. The workshop Future Read in Concrete and Stone takes three Yugoslav modernist monuments/land art memorials of WWII anti-fascist struggle and communist revolution (Sutjeska, Kozara and Kadinjača) as case studies and possible scores for performance. An analysis of current socio-political condition is proposed based on these art works as examples and their relation to ideology, and participant’s artistic practice as propositions for the future.
