AIDS Anarchive
Mapping Intersectionality, Internationalism and Counterculture in Cologne during the Transition Period (1989-1996/98)
with AIMAR ARRIOLA, NANCY GARÍN
Coinciding with the approaching end of the Kohl era, a new combination therapy brought a breakthrough in the treatment of HIV/AIDS in the 1990s. By sharing personal experiences and local stories in two workshops, we will explore this complex period of Germany and the political management of the pandemic, especially with a view to Cologne. In a subsequent public lecture, the participating artists will present their projects on the topic in more detail. Workshops and lectures can be attended together or separately. Participation is possible on one or both days.
