Postponed: Art Workers Commons
Due to the current regulations of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia for the containment of the Coronoavirus (COVID-19), this event had to be postponed.
with ARTS OF THE WORKING CLASS
As a conclusion to the Art Workers Commons workshop, in which possibilities for the founding of a trade union for art workers will be developed, Alina Kolar, María Inés Plaza Lazo and Pauł Sochacki, the editors of Arts of the Working Class, along with the participants, will present the results of the workshop. The themes of the workshop will be brought into public space and negotiated further with an expanded circle of interested individuals, passersby and the initiators. The evening is also the kick-off event for distribution of the global street journal in Cologne and the launch of the current edition.
In the multi-day workshop Art Workers Commons, Arts of the Working Class and the participants address issues of solidarity and forms of togetherness, which can replace competition and individual success as guiding principles in the production of art and discourse. The concepts of ‘care’ and ‘accountability’ have to be rethought. Where do we begin in order to take care of others and ourselves?
