With HÖRNER/ANTLFINGER, GISELLE

The artist duo Hörner/Antlfinger invites us to discuss their work Dollhouse for Dinosaurs together. The Cologne-based duo has been living with parrots for more than 20 years and, together with the grey parrots Clara and Karl, they formed the interspecies collective CMUK. Their work, Dollhouse for Dinosaurs (2021) provided them with a model of their shared apartment. Here, the intrusion of avian aesthetics into ideal human concepts of dwelling manifests itself. Traces of the birds’ creation can be found on windows, doors and even walls of the model. The work questions the rectangular and inorganic form of the human living space in that the birds - like sculptors - work on the materials and thus introduce non-human knowledge and perspectives.

In their works, the Interspecies Collective CMUK aims to visualize the anthropocentric view of this world and propose possible spaces for encounters and the joint shaping of the world and environment.

Based on a close examination of the work, we also want to address questions about the diverse human- animal relationships in living together and look forward to a lively exchange. Afterwards, we would like to round up the evening with drinks in the exhibition space.
